We’re glad to hear you may visit our “city with the small town heart!”
Columbiana is a charming little city. Antique and gift shops dot our uptown area, along with several wonderful little cafes. Another highlight of this area is the newly renovated Main Street Theater. This beautiful theater features live entertainment and personal improvement classes. While you’re uptown, check out our beautiful town square which was recently restored . Other “sites to see” include the Log Cabin Museum (open on Saturdays and Sundays through the summer), the Barley Twist Tea Garden and the gorgeous century home that is now the Columbiana Inn- an inviting bed & breakfast.
If you head down Main St., you’ll find yourself at the very popular Dutch Haus Restaurant. In that same vicinity, you’ll find the Dutch Village Inn, Bo’s Pet Shoppe, and the Dutch Village Shops (which include a book store, jewelry store, gift shop and kitchen/cooking store). The Inn has a dinner theater package which is very popular with visitors to our area – an exceptional meal, wonderful entertainment and, if you choose, a night’s stay. It is a beautiful facility with designer rooms. Make sure you stop in the Starbucks coffee shop in their lobby!
In the summer time, residents and visitors alike can enjoy the lovely Firestone Park – the pool, the walking trails, the tennis courts, the children’s playground, the pavilions, etc.! Be sure to stop and enjoy the free concerts in the park gazebo through the summer. The park is also home to the annual Community Celebration on July 4th , a day of free family activities and fireworks – all sponsored by the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce. Golfers – Columbiana is home to five top-notch courses! We also have several nearby farm markets that offer fresh fruit and vegetables in the summer – one market even allows visitors to go out to the fields and “pick it yourself”.
If you miss the “big city”, we’re a 20-minute drive to the Youngstown area, where you can enjoy the symphony, live theater and lots of popular shopping and dining venues. Speaking of shopping and dining…..you may wish to include a stop at the popular (and local!) Shaker Woods events in the late summer or fall (Shaker Woods –last three weekends in August; Antiques in the Woods-first weekend after Labor Day; Christmas in the Woods – two weekends in mid-October).
Be sure to come back to our website for up to date information on our community. Again, welcome to Columbiana! |
